I worked in labor and delivery. I saw every kind of naked, in ways that most normal folks will never comprehend. My most embarrassing, uncomfortable moment didn’t come from my laboring patient. It was her hubby, lol. My co workers know that I have a thing about locked doors between myself and my patients. I have a thing about locked doors, period, but that’s another story. I sent my mama into the shower that morning, and tasked hubby with staying with her if she experienced any weakness, nausea, or anything that she might need. I’m THAT nurse. When you are laboring, you are the queen. Anything The EMT’s brought in a 79-year old male who had an acute onset of confusion at home. He was minimally responsive on arrival. His wife of 50 years arrived by private auto. We got him into a bay, drew the curtains for privacy, and two of my nurses began to undress him. His wife stood at the head of his gurney. When they pulled down his underwear to insert a catheter, I almost went into cardiac arrest myself. He was the most well-endowed man I have ever seen, in real life or not.
