Recently I took a permanent position. Not wanting to play bait and switch with my potential employer or risk being permanently miserable on the Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio match shirt Besides,I will do this job, I went to the job interview in a Jones NY skirted suit, a scarf blouse, Naturalizer t-straps and pantyhose. Just like most interviews I have had, no mention was made of how I dressed. Before the interview, I had sent the Human Resources recruiter some photos to pass along to the hiring manager so he would know what to expect. She phoned me to tell me first of all it would be illegal for her to pass them along because Oregon law, and that of over 20 other states, protect gender expression along with gender identity, sexual orientation, etc. Secondly, like the Fortune 50 firm, as a company with not only a Coast to Coast presence, but an international one as well, they embrace human diversity in all of its meanings and manifestations. They have to. They’re not going to have different policies in different jurisdictions just to accommodate the few remaining bigots in their workforce. That would be just plain stupid, inefficient and wasteful for no discernible gain.
