Zuck is not frugal. Those are cashmere t-shirts, and custom jeans. He buys something like 300 cashmere t-shirts at a time. Most of his stuff comes from the Italian luxury houses. However, if we unpack what he’s doing – it makes perfect sense. He has a system of dressing that works for him, so now that he’s wealthy, why not just upgrade what’s working, rather than trying to change+upgrade. Those who depend upon brand clothing to present a paricular image to the world are generally uncomfortable with their own place in the world, and hang onto external elements to convince others that they are much cooler than they believe. However, this isn’t to say that anyone who enjoys the look and quality of brand clothing is insecure. Wanting to look good is one thing. Being obsessed with one paricular corporate icon above all others is another.
