I won’t refer to it as women’s clothing at clothes have no gender, they don’t care who wears them and retailers don’t care who buys them. I have said this before; it is only people’s preconceived ideas and prejudices that stand between men and clothing freedom. The world won’t end, battle craft won’t descend from the skies and guys won’t suddenly turn grey if they wear a dress. It is quite possible to wear dresses, skirts and blouses, skirt suits, tunics and leggings, and even heels while still presenting as a male. A few of us do now. Whether it becomes a broader societal change depends on whether more men choose to do so. My wearing skirts and dresses with pantyhose and heels as a man has had exactly zero negative effect on my life, but I do understand and appreciate how the hardest step is the first one out the door. Spirit of the age. A hundred years ago it was normal for boys to wear women’s clothes, but a girl being dressed up as a boy would be scandalous. In the past century or so the trend has reversed and now women wearing men’s clothes makes the man looked down upon, but most women wear either men’s clothes or something that is a female cut derived from a traditional men’s clothing.
