The dress is an outfit which can be worn with or without leggings i.e. an additional two outfits without shoes (8 if we include shoe combinations). However, there may be a flaw in that I feel woman have more shoe options than men, where some people may want to count the St. Louis flag Halloween pumpkin shirt and by the same token and difference between a lace-up or a slip-on for a man’s formal shoe. I would argue that woman tend to have at least double the number of shoe options as men, and so it wouldn’t affect the ‘diversity ratio’ Clearly, the options list for both gender is not exhaustive, but is based on what I have seen. I think it is clear that woman have more options available to them and so will always have a great deal more diversity within fashion. However, the assumption in the beginning that fashion is based more on clothes combinations than styles can be challenged and this argument will still hold true, as both men and women tend to have the same colors and cuts offered to them for each clothing item.
