Deciduous trees (so, southern Minnesota) look like a Gothic nightmare on a dark day and can really put you in a funk. I’ve never lived in northern Minnesota, and I’m sure it has its own challenges. But given the choice of winter landscape, don’t fool yourself into thinking that it’s better the farther south you go in Minnesota. It’s worse.
